I am looking at a live shown project that is going to require the use of mostly modeled VSTs.
Pianoteq for pianos, LL4 for EPs, don't know about organs as I am not sure there are modeled ones out there, I think they are all sampled.
And finally synths.
I'll be running the DAW (Reaper) live and with the way I am going to run it with projects "stacked up" as it were, and with at least two VST's in each setup along with backing tracks, I need to make the load up as easy as possible. VST's like Sampletank and B-3X organ, are very resource intensive and loading up around 12 instances in different projects at the same time could bog down the PC (mac mini 16g ram version M1 chip).
So I need some suggestions for very lightweight (but decent sounding) organs and Synths that are modeled as modeled instruments are very light on system resources at load in, only consuming RAM when running.
Thanks

The EVB3 (sorry, "Vintage B3 Organ") in Logic/Mainstage is a modelled organ - I'm sure there are others.
As you're using a Mac, you could run that (and all the instruments) in Mainstage. Main of the Logic/Mainstage plugins are very light on CPU.

I'm fairly sure that the GSI instruments are still modelled. Here's the organ

I have an ancient version that works well. They also have electric pianos and a few other things too.

It’s not something I know much about, but here’s a link to a discussion about lightweight synths…

On the synth front there is the excellent (and free) Dexed FM synth plugin which is effectively a Yamaha DX7 with additional features.

It doesn't use samples (neither did the original DX7 hardware).

Thanks - yes that I knew that (I owned one back in the day - couldn't program it for shit but got by on presets and LOTS of cartridges haha!)
Just wasn't sure if the software version was the same.

Dexed
Dexed works just like the DX7 and even loads DX7 presets.
Some one has already programmed your ideal organ sound & posted it on the WWW, you just have to track it down and load it in.
