Suggestions for non-authentic Hammond emulation?

I love Hammonds. In general, emulations strive for accuracy.

However, I'm wondering (post fruitless Google search) if anyone has suggestions for an emulation that's

(1) velocity sensitive
(2) has continuously controllable Leslie speed

both of which are inauthentic, but would be wonderful to play with!

A velocity sensitive Hammond doesn't make a lot of sense (the originals were more about how far you pressed a key down as opposed to how hard you hit it) but when it comes to emulations you could probably do worse than check out the Arturia B-3V.

I've got it as part of my collection and although I'm not a Hammond aficionado it's pretty good IMHO. You can get a free demo to play with and it just might float your boat.

From the perspective of authenticity, I agree! (And thank you for the plugin suggestion.)

However, there are many other velocity sensitive sustained synth sounds -- so what I'm looking for is the Hammond "sound" and controls, plus velocity sensitivity.

Seems like a job for a sampler with velocity layers. As to Leslie, PSP L’otary2 plugin may do it for you.

Melda's MVintageRotary is a fairly well spec'd Leslie, as is Spinner LE if you can still run 32bit plugins.
But both of them have switchable speed rather than continuously variable options.

An Idea just occurred to me: I wonder if something as simple as mapping velocity to loudness would achieve this. Might work best with multiple instances on a split (or dual) keyboard. Going to try this when I get a chance!

Sure, also think about mapping other things like filters and distortion. Velocity bringing in other layers, etc. Don't overlook aftertouch and modwheels.

The Yamaha YC61 could fit the bill, hardware though.
The Hammond sound on it is a bit weird, but in a good way, plus, it’s got loads of effects and controllers you can assign to organ parameters, it’s got a gritty sound, dirty, and of course, fully assignable velocity.

Getting the distortion right is quite important. The B3 is quite easily pushed into distortion. You need a valve overdrive type sound (as that's exactly what it is in the real thing).
