One Synth Challenge #7- 2022 Edition

Post by Rich Hanson »

It's about time we did this again, given the marvellous pieces that have been produced in the past. Due to Dave's continued absence, I have decided to step up and curate the seventh edition.

Usual rules apply - all musical parts from one synth; analogue, digital, hardware, software, your choice! Drums + percussion however you wish.

Who's in?

Yes for sure. Any thoughts on a closing date?

I've never liked a solo violin, you need at least five for a proper fire.

How long did we allow before - about six weeks? That would give an end date of Sunday 11th September, how does that sound?

Personally I'd prefer a longer time. Partly to allow a creativity recharge, and also to create a bit more distance from the SOS Forum album.

P.S.
I also need to decide what synth to use - it certainly won't be the SY35 again {shudder}

How about end of September? Bit of an easier date to remember and gives people a bit of chance to get summer holidays out of the way.

As the last day of September is a Friday, let's give everyone the weekend and say November 2nd.

How about a presentation to the winner, to be presented at Synthfest?

OK, I'm fine with anything up to the 5th. On the 6th I'll be wending my way up to Derbyshire. I like to set SynthFest in the middle of a holiday :D

P.S.
I tend to make short breaks Thursday to Tuesday - for the lightest traffic conditions.

I've made a momentous decision. I will definitely NOT be using Yoshimi :?
I do actually have a number of other soft-synths available and two hardware ones.

That said. I would be delighted if one of the proud/secret Yoshimi Pi owners were to compose with it. A different perspective would be invaluable to us at the coal face.
P.S.
If someone needed help with an unforeseen problem I would of course be sworn to secrecy :silent:

Probably not as we don't usually run it as a competition, unless people want to?

A thousand times 'no'. This is about everyone joining in, not a competition.
