Track 01: I've only got as far as this and I already want to buy this synth that growls like an animal and tinkles like a stream, whatever it is!
Track 06: And now I also want to buy the beautifully percussive and wiry synth featured here
Track 09: Love the metallic and electronic piano sounds from this track (FM synthesis surely?)
Track 14: Ooh - this has some beautifully haunting timbres too, with lovely internal motion
Here’s my wildly wrong guesses. I’ve listened through a few times. Really impressive work by all. There’s not a track here I wouldn’t happily add to my library.
1. No clue
2. Modular
3. DSI
4. Hmm
5. Waldorf
6. FM synth
7. Korg DW8000
8. VP 330
9. No idea
10. 2600
11. Another DSI
12. Prophet
13. Jupiter
14. Clueless
I am clueless, really, apart from Will’s track! There are some great sounds, but my big lesson is that pretty much all modern synths seem to be insanely powerful and flexible. Amazing variety….
Wow, I really enjoyed listening to all of them.(even mine) Some fantastic sounds in there, I couldn’t even speculate, most of the time what synths were in play.
What a great listen! I can’t join in the guessing game as I don’t know the first thing about synths.
I don’t think any of you should mention this challenge to your partners though, they might listen and then wonder why anyone needs more than one synth….

Easy. You just tell them that each synth can only create one type of music
Rich, as some synths have been used more than once, will you say how many times the multiple use ones have been done - I'm not entirely sure it will help folks, but it could be that just one synth was used 4 times!
