So, it turns out that on both SoundCloud and Bandcamp if you set a release date in the future and hit publish, it publishes now, not on the release date.
So rather than having a co-ordinated release with all the major streaming services in a fortnight, you, yes you, get a special advance access to the new EP right here! https://drewstephenson.bandcamp.com/alb ... and-losing
Bought, downloaded and imported into iTunes.
Easy integration into iTunes, the artwork appeared automatically and the lyrics too.
As usual, intriguing songs that have arrangements that keep the ear candy cravings at bay!.
iTunes has it as "Unknown Genre" - which seems about right- in a good way!
Nice one Drew, and I see a reputable mastering engineer was used too...
Thanks Kwackman, very much appreciated. I try and make up for in arrangement / production what I lack in musical theory - and ability!
I think the genre is probably best described as Americana but not a lot of places have that as a primary option.
The mastering is definitely the best part of the production.
Good listen, good work. I like your stuff, but that first one - the Wood Heart and Cold Bones tune - I was impressed by that one. You keep coming up with music I never imagined would come out of you. Originally I figured you for an acoustic balladeer with a flair for lyrics and a fondness for gentle tunes, but where you been keeping the pop rocker you channelled on that one? Impressive.

Thank you.
The rockier side has always been there but it's really only in the last couple of years I've had the tools/techniques to try and do something with it.
First track, did it for me. I’m not good at giving praise, but please accept it here.
Comparisons can offend sometimes, but that track reminded a bit, the tone, of John Cale's voice, you should let go more.
Interesting sound at the beginning of 'Ballad'. Sounds like an acoustic piano with a REALLY noisy action! Did you conceive it or discover it by accident?

You don't have to write songs. The world doesn't want you to write songs. It would probably prefer it if you didn't. So write songs if you want to. Otherwise, please don't bore us with beefing about it. Go fishing instead.
Thanks for the comments folks, very kind of you all.
As to the piano sound, it's actually a sound I've used before. I like all the extra resonances you get when you absolutely hammer a keyboard, even if it's not actually a real piano.
