A little anticipation when it comes to the release of a new product is not a bad thing but in this case it seems to have been taken to new levels.
One could postulate that year+ lead-times 'twixt announcement and delivery could lead to cynicism on the part of consumers. I'd have difficulty arguing against it. However good the product is, don't announce it such that years go by before you can place it in the hands of those you initially courted.
The Osmose may well turn out to be brilliant. I liked the look of it but I didn't preorder one on the premise it seemed a bit premature.
The videos were nice but I'm not even going to consider it until I see one in my local tech box-shifter and have seen some hands-on reviews of it from sources I trust.
Seriously, ASM nailed this with their Hydrasynth. Hardly any teasers then dropped it, complete and awesome, on the world. Just saying
