if anyone here has any or knows anyone with a bunch of really corroded electric guitar strings, please by all means make an ebay listing and I will buy them.

I'm conducting an experiment on electric guitar string corrosion for a new string company and would be happy to take them off of your hands. Thanks

Hi Roger. I have a few old guitar and bass strings kicking around. Not corroded AFAIK but if you want them PM me and I will pop them in a Jiffy to you.

Try bargain bins in guitar shops. As a young and poor budding guitarist I once bought several packets at a bargain price at a local shop. All turned out to be corroded, which I'm sure is the reason they put them in the bargain bin. At least it taught me to keep tickets.

Have you contacted any guitar repair places. They will see a lot of very old strings.

You could also consider a touring guitar tech that changes strings regularly, but they may not be corroded enough. They will have been used in very sweaty environments in some cases!
