Your descriptions of the guitar used are very misleading.

You are describing the classic single cutaway Les Paul guitar with references to Paul Butterfield, Eric Clapton in the Bluesbreakers and Gerry Garcia.

Yet Gibson stopped making this guitar in 1960 and from 1961 to 1963, the ‘Les Paul’ name was attached to a thin-bodied double-cutaway guitar that sometime in 1963 became renamed the SG (after Gibson’s marketing deal with Les Paul ended).

So if the guitar in the samples is a 1963 Les Paul, then it is a very different sounding guitar to the classic 50s Les Paul, (which itself had two distinct sounds depending on whether pre-1957 and fitted with P90s and 1957-1960 and fitted with PAF humbuckers).

The 1961 and onwards LPs/SGs came with either humbuckers or P90s depending on the price, so anyone interested would want to know which pickups were fitted.

Eric Clapton’s ‘Fool’ guitar when he was in Cream was a ‘Les Paul’ SG, and that’s probably the most famous example of the 61-63 Les Paul.

So I suggest you find out exactly which guitar was actually used in your samples and describe it and its heritage correctly e.g. P90s or humbuckers, and Standard, Custom, Special or Junior model.
