Yamaha DX11 patch restore

Post by ManFromGlass »

A friend was interested in my DX11 so I pulled it out, changed the battery and it booted up. He took a pass but I realized how much fun it is. It does a really nice DX bass that always sat nicely in a mix. It only has single patches in ROM so all the performance patches are gone.

I’ve been searching the internet to find those factory performance patches and a way to restore them. It used to be done with a special cassette player. So far no luck. I can’t find a legacy synth page on Yamaha’s site. I’m going to branch out and start searching general FM synthesis sites and maybe I’ll get lucky. Any suggestions of where to look appreciated.
