TC Electronic G Major 2 - tap tempo newb question

Post by SecretSam »

If any of you know the G Major 2 ....

The manual talks about tap tempo. But I can't figure out where to, you know, tap.

Via a momentary footswitch would be good. Also, by poking a button on the front panel would be handy sometimes.

Can anyone tell me?

Instant gratification is actually pretty good. It's fast as well.

The manual is remarkably unclear on that subject isn't it? Have you tried tapping the delay button when in the tap section of the global menu?

Apparently you can plug in a momentary switch into the expression pedal input and set the Tap Tempo (in Mod) to pedal

And it can be done via a MIDI foot pedal as well. Somehow.

Reliably fallible.

Thanks, Wonks and Drew. I'll try that momentary foot switch thing. The other thing the manual doesn't tell you is where/how the tap tempo is displayed.

On the line 6 m9 there is a very useful flashing light that confirms at what tempo the unit is running.

I like the sound of the G major, but its ergonomics could be better.

It’s 22 or so years old now. No web interfaces or phone apps to make things easier.
