I'm trying to use Ableton Live as a MIDI slave - but somehow I'm missing something.
Live situation: I have Ableton and I'm recording in real-time and playing clips with Ableton.
Bandmate has RC 300 - which can only be a master.
So, okay, Ableton can be a slave - but - then I can't send any start/stop/rec commands anymore, because as a slave I have nothing to say. So, I can't do anything. That can't be right, what's the synchronization for then?
Even if the external looper is not connected: as soon as I press the EXT button in Live at the top left, I can't even start an existing clip. After all, the sequencer is waiting as a slave for the corresponding command.....

In the MIDI settings of Live, the interface is not marked as "remote".
Ableton Live and Push 2, interface RME UCX II, connected to the RC 300 via MIDI cable. How can I even align myself with a MIDI timecode and then send quantized start and stop commands of my clips??
There must be something I don't understand. I have heard from knowledgeable sources that it is precisely the point that a slave has nothing to say - but then the idea of synchronization would be useless...?
I would be very grateful if someone could enlighten me
